Real telephone lines allow us to provide great sound quality for every-meeting.
Calls over the internet (VoIP) are increasingly common with the NBN, but for some users unreliable sound quality can make internet based services not the best choice for a teleconference where there are multiple lines.
If you make a point to point call using a service like Skype and the sound quality is poor, you’d simply disconnect and redial until you get a good line.
In a teleconference, if there is an issue, it won’t be clear which line is causing it, so all of the attendees will need to disconnect and dial back in, possibly multiple times.
We’d love to provide a VoIP based service, but internet quality in Australia is not uniformly good enough yet.
